England midfielder Eberechi Eze has responded to questions surrounding claims that Ghanaian spiritualist Nana Kwaku Bonsam placed a curse on Three Lions captain Harry Kane during their 2026 FIFA World Cup encounter.

The claims gained attention after Ghana and England played out a goalless draw, with Kane failing to score despite England dominating possession for long periods.

Before the Group L match, Nana Kwaku Bonsam had claimed he would cast a spell on the England captain to affect his performance. He is also known for previous claims involving Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury during the 2014 World Cup.

When asked whether the alleged curse had been discussed among England players, Eze laughed and questioned whether the interviewer genuinely believed in such things.

The 27-year-old then distanced himself from the topic, saying he was “not too interested” in discussing spiritual claims.

The conversation gained attention because Kane had been in excellent form at the tournament, equalling Gary Lineker’s record of 10 World Cup goals for England and needing just one more goal to become the country’s outright leading scorer at the competition.

However, his quiet performance against Ghana led some fans online to revisit Bonsam’s comments.

The Ghanaian spiritualist has since claimed that he has “released” Kane from the alleged spell.
