The Founder and President of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has pledged to donate a Hilux vehicle to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, NWUK, to strengthen the institution’s administrative operations.

Mr Gwarzo made the pledge on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by the Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, alongside members of the University’s Management and Governing Council, at his office in Abuja.

The donation came as part of a strategic engagement between both institutions aimed at deepening collaboration and promoting the growth of higher education in Nigeria.

During the meeting, Mr Gwarzo offered strategic guidance to the University’s leadership, outlining practical measures to accelerate institutional development, improve academic standards and enhance the University’s national and international profile.

In a demonstration of his support for the institution, he immediately pledged the donation of a Toyota Hilux vehicle to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor to facilitate administrative activities and improve operational efficiency.

Mr Gwarzo commended Professor Bayero and members of her management team for their commitment to repositioning Northwest University Kano, urging them to remain focused on transforming the institution into one of Nigeria’s leading centres of learning.

He also encouraged the University’s leadership to sustain reforms capable of driving academic excellence, innovation and infrastructural development.

The meeting was described by both parties as a family engagement, reflecting the longstanding cordial relationship between Northwest University Kano and the MAAUN Group of Universities.

The relationship is rooted in years of professional collaboration, with Professor Amina Salihi Bayero having previously served at the MAAUN Kano Campus before her appointment as Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano. Professor Gwarzo also maintains close ties with the University as a long-time friend and supporter.

The visit formed part of Northwest University Kano’s broader strategy of strengthening partnerships with government agencies, research institutions and private educational organisations to promote academic excellence, innovation, infrastructural development and sustainable growth.

The University’s management said such engagements would continue to foster collaboration capable of expanding opportunities for staff and students while enhancing the institution’s overall development.
