EDHA Confirms Kayode Iriabekhai Jeff as Commissioner

BENIN CITY — The Edo State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed Mr Kayode Iriabekhai Jeff as Commissioner.
His confirmation followed a request by Governor Monday Okpebholo asking the House to consider and approve his nomination.
After receiving the governor’s letter, the House referred the matter to the relevant committee for screening and further legislative consideration.
At plenary, members unanimously adopted the committee’s report and subsequently confirmed Iriabekhai Jeff for appointment as commissioner.
Speaking earlier, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, advised the nominee to work in harmony with the representative of Owan East Constituency.
During his screening before the lawmakers, Iriabekhai Jeff described himself as a former intelligence officer of the Department of State Services (DSS).
It would be recalled that the House last week confirmed Dr Washington Osa Osifo as commissioner.
The Assembly later adjourned plenary to Monday, September 29.
