Faith Sani celebrates heritage with ‘Igala Medley’

Gospel singer, Faith Sani, has unveiled her new project titled ‘Igala Medley’, which she describes as a culturally inspired musical piece that blends faith, heritage, and worship.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, Sani told Saturday Beats, “The Holy Spirit is the inspiration behind it. I have done so many songs in English, Yoruba, and Igbo languages. When I received the inspiration to do ‘Igala Medley’, I began putting the songs together. Some of the choruses were composed by me, while others were written by my Igala sisters.”
She added that the timing of the release was deliberate, describing it as a message of hope amid difficult national circumstances.
“In times like this, I acknowledge the struggles many are experiencing. However, despair is not the answer. I encourage us to remain hopeful as we lift our voices in praise, trusting that God who sees our hearts hears our prayers and is able to bring restoration and transformation to our nation,” she added.
Sani also stated that the newly released video for the song reflects her cultural identity, featuring traditional Igala attire, dancers, and choreography. According to her, the project is designed to evoke joy and gratitude in listeners.
Speaking on how her background in church music has played a major role in shaping her artistry, she said, “Being a longtime choir member shaped me in many ways. It taught me discipline, humility, teamwork, and the importance of using my voice to glorify God.”
She also addressed the balance between faith, culture, and artistry, revealing that her journey has been both spiritual and cultural.
“Igala Medley is where my culture meets my faith. I incorporated cultural attire, dancers, and traditional dance styles. I was not raised in a Christian home; in fact, I was born a Muslim. My journey has brought me to a place where I now use my gift to praise God while still celebrating the beauty of my Igala heritage,” she said.
