Finally, Actor Rotimi Salami Speaks On Romantic Relationship With Allwell Ademola

Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has reacted to long-standing rumours that he once had a romantic relationship with late actress Allwell Ademola, a claim that has circulated for years within the Yoruba movie industry.

In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Salami denied the story and explained that he did not pay attention to gossip about him.

Naijaonpoint Nigeria reports that he said he only became aware of the rumour after Ademola once reached out to ask him about what people were saying.

He added that he told her he had not heard anything and does not follow such talk.

The actor also stated that public rumours do not affect how he relates with colleagues or friends in the industry. According to him, he prefers to focus on his work and avoid distractions from outside talk.

Salami further explained that his marriage remains his priority and that he would step back from any close friendship if his wife ever felt uncomfortable with it, since he answers to her first.

He said: “I told her I did not hear about it, and I truly do not listen to people.

“If my wife says she was not comfortable with our relationship, I would withdraw because she is the only person I am answerable to.”

He also spoke about Ademola’s death, which happened in December 2025 when she was 49 years old after suffering cardiac arrest at her home.

He described the news as painful and unexpected for those who knew her.

He noted that she had an existing health condition and was known to manage her asthma carefully, often carrying her inhaler and taking her health seriously.

“She’s been asthmatic, doesn’t joke with her health or medications, always cautious of her health and always had her inhaler and always tell people to take care of their health, I just believed it’s her time”, he said.
