A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Buba Galadima, on Tuesday, accused President Bola Tinubu of trying to destroy the opposition and opposition political parties.
Galadima alleged that Tinubu is backed by the National Assembly to destroy the opposition in Nigeria.
The NDC chieftain spoke while featuring on a television breakfast programme.
He accused Tinubu of failing to deliver democratic dividends to Nigerians since he assumed office as president, stating that for the past two years he had been criticising the APC and its government because from the day Tinubu was inaugurated as Nigeria’s president, he started politicking instead of delivering services and democratic dividends to the people.
He maintained that regardless of whether it was right or wrong, democracy must outlive them, adding that he had said times without number that the president never wants to compete with anybody and would try to destroy all opposition candidates and parties, actively supported by the National Assembly in doing so.
He further alleged that the judiciary had now been dragged into it as a complementary part of the larger picture the APC government is trying to create for Nigerians, insisting that democracy would survive whether APC or Tinubu tries to subvert it, and would outlive them.
