Gunmen abduct ex-power minister Adelabu’s sister, twin children in Ibadan

The sister of the former minister of power and All Progressives Congress 2027 governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, and her twin children have been kidnapped in Ibadan, the state capital.
This newspaper gathered that the abduction reportedly occurred on Wednesday morning in the Challenge area of Ibadan south west local government area.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. while Mrs. John-Paul, 43, was on her routine morning trip to drop her children off at school.
Witness accounts and a video seen by this newspaper captured the disturbing aftermath of the incident, including a red Toyota Camry abandoned on a quiet street with its doors left ajar, suggesting a sudden and forceful disruption.
The incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity in Oyo State.
Recall that over 40 teachers and students were kidnapped on Friday, May 15, 2026, during a coordinated attack at Ahoro-Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area.
Reacting to the latest incident, Olayinka Ayanlade, Oyo State police public relations officer, stated, “I can not independently verify this for now, but please hold on.”
