‘I will never forgive him’ – British lawmaker launches scathing attack on Starmer

A British lawmaker, Rupert Lowe, has launched a scathing attack on outgoing Prime Minister Keir Starmer following his resignation, describing his tenure as a failure and accusing him of damaging the country’s future.

Starmer announced his decision to step down amid growing pressure within the ruling Labour Party after months of political turmoil, poor electoral performances and increasing calls from party members for a change in leadership.

He is expected to remain in office until Labour elects a new leader.

Reacting to the development, Lowe, who represents Great Yarmouth in Parliament and leads the political movement Restore Britain, said Starmer’s resignation marked the end of what he described as a deeply disappointing premiership.

“Starmer resigns, he has been a truly disgraceful Prime Minister,” Lowe wrote in a post on X.

“I do not believe him to be a good man or a patriot. He has deliberately and rapidly accelerated the destruction of our Britain, of our home. History will not remember him kindly, nor should it.”

The outspoken lawmaker said one of his biggest grievances with Starmer stemmed from the former prime minister’s handling of calls for a national inquiry into the sexual exploitation of young girls.

According to Lowe, the issue remains unforgivable.

“I sat in Parliament, looking him in the eye, listening to him attempting to justify his decision to block a national inquiry into the mass rape of young British girls. I will never forgive him. For that, and so much else,” he stated.

The remarks rank among the strongest public reactions from a serving British politician since Starmer’s resignation was announced.

Lowe also used the opportunity to promote his political platform, Restore Britain, presenting it as an alternative for voters seeking a different direction for the country.

“What comes next, I do not know,” he said. “Whatever that is, Restore Britain will be ready to offer the British people a democratic route out, a better way, the only way.”

He concluded by welcoming Starmer’s departure from office.

“But Starmer is gone. And that is a good thing. Enjoy it,” Lowe added.

Starmer’s resignation comes after a period of mounting challenges for the Labour government, including internal divisions, cabinet upheavals and declining public confidence, setting the stage for a closely watched leadership contest that will determine Britain’s next prime minister.
