Kaduna ranked Nigeria’s 3rd best-performing state

Kaduna State Government has welcomed its ranking as Nigeria’s third-best performing state in the 2025 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index, pSPI.

It described the recognition as independent validation of its reform agenda.

The state also received an Excellent Four-Star Rating in the assessment, placing it among the country’s highest-performing states.

Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, disclosed this in a statement issued in Kaduna on Monday.

Maiyaki said the ranking reflects the impact of the reform-driven, people-centred policies implemented by Gov. Uba Sani’s administration.

According to him, the assessment recorded measurable progress in governance, fiscal management, economic development, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and social inclusion.

“This recognition is significant because it comes from an independent and credible assessment that combines objective performance indicators with citizen feedback.

“It confirms that Kaduna State is making steady progress in strengthening institutions, improving governance outcomes, and expanding opportunities for its citizens,” he added.

The commissioner noted that the latest recognition adds to a growing list of independent assessments acknowledging the state’s performance.

He recalled that Kaduna earlier emerged as the top-ranked state in the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index (TII) published by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI).

Maiyaki added that the state also recorded the highest score nationwide on the Control of Corruption Indicator.

The commissioner said the rankings underscore the impact of ongoing reforms and investments across critical sectors.

“These rankings are encouraging because they demonstrate that our efforts are yielding measurable results.

“However, our focus remains on improving the lives of our people through inclusive development, economic empowerment, quality service delivery, and sustainable peace,” he added.

The commissioner reaffirmed the Uba Sani administration’s commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, transparent, and globally competitive Kaduna State.

He said the government would sustain reforms aimed at delivering greater benefits to citizens.

Maiyaki also thanked residents, development partners, traditional and religious institutions, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders for their support andven development.
