Mother of three brutally m8rdered by suspected assailants in Ekiti

A mother of three, identified as Olaitan Amire Adewumi, has been brutally m8rdered by suspected assailants in Ido-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

The shocking incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night, June 13, 2026. 

A relative of the deceased, Mr. Dare Akinola, who confirmed the incident said that the attackers had initially attempted to burn down Amire’s apartment on Friday night.

According to him, the plot was foiled when a passerby noticed flames coming from the window of the deceased’s residence and promptly raised an alarm, preventing the fire from spreading.

“On Friday, there was an attempt to set her house on fire, but the effort was unsuccessful because a passerby noticed the fire and alerted residents,” he said.

“Unfortunately, on Saturday, she was not so lucky. The attackers returned and hacked her on the head, face, legs and several other parts of her body, inflicting fatal injuries that led to her d3ath.”

Akinola further revealed that after carrying out the gruesome k!lling, the assailants allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by setting the victim’s body ablaze.

“They covered her body with clothes and other personal belongings and placed a container of petrol beside her in what appeared to be an effort to burn the corpse,” he added.

Akinola disclosed that the incident had been reported to the police and that two suspects had already been arrested and were undergoing interrogation in connection with the crime.
