NLO fines Green Beret, suspends officials for assaults on match officials

The Nationwide League One, NLO, has slammed Green Beret FC with a fine of N1.5m and suspended the club’s officials for two seasons.
The sanctions was a punishment for an attack on match officials after their game against Zamfara United.
The NLO made the sanction known in a memo sent to the club.
The organisers said that the club must pay N1m for violent conduct and N500,000 to cover the medical expenses of the injured referees, both payments are to be made within 7days.
The NLO secretariat described the incident as unacceptable and damaging to the reputation of the game.
They also urged Green Beret FC to submit the name of the officials involved in the assault of match officials within 48 hours.
