The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the abduction of three children from Yola North Local Government Area.
According to a statement by police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje, the case began when Samaila Musa, a resident of Hullere Gwalamba, reported to the State Intelligence Department on June 16, 2026, that three of his sons Adamu Samaila Sultan, 24, Bilal Abdurrahman, 8, and Ya’u Sani Baba Iyali, 10 had been abducted on June 12 and taken to an unknown location.
He further disclosed that the kidnappers had subsequently made contact with the family, demanding a ransom for the children’s release.
Following the report, Commissioner of Police Kabir Hassan directed operatives to launch a comprehensive investigation, deploying intelligence and technical resources to track down those responsible.
The swift response led to the arrest of one suspect, who is currently in protective custody and reportedly cooperating with investigators by providing useful information to help apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate believed to be operating in the state.
The police spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect would be formally charged in court once the inquiry is concluded.
