Police arrest three man gang terrorising Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police command has arrested a nocturios three -man gang terrorising residents of Yola, the state capital and communities.
The command’s spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement issued on Thursday, disclosed that operatives of D15 in the Criminal Investigation Department made the arrest during one of it operations.
Nguroje stated, “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives attached to D15 of the state criminal investigation department, carried out a targeted operation that led to the arrest of the following suspects: Abdulmalik Mohammad, 22 years, Abba Mustapha, 21 years and Ibrahim Yusuf, 22 years.”
The statement pointed out that the arrest was as a result of the command sustained fight against Shilla gangsterism and other violent crimes across the state.
According to the statement the three suspects were involved in criminal conspiracy, possession of dangerous weapons, and banned substances.
“During the operation, the command operatives recovered dangerous weapons and suspected banned substances from the suspects,” the statement said.
The statement added that preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects are linked to criminal activities associated with Shilla gangsterism, which has been a source of concern to residents of Yola and the communities around the state capital.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Kabir Hassan has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intensifying operations against criminal gangs and other threats to public safety.
The Command called on members of the public to continue supporting the police with useful and timely information that can aid the ongoing effort to rid the state of criminal elements.
“While Investigation is ongoing, the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation,” the statement also said.
