Singer Brymo opens up about dispute with former record label, Chocolate City

Singer Brymo has opened up about his long-running dispute with his former record label, Chocolate City, insisting that their relationship ended because of a business disagreement and not personal animosity.

Speaking in a recent interview on yanga fm, the singer dismissed suggestions of a “beef” between both parties, explaining that the conflict stemmed from contractual and business issues that eventually led to a court case.

According to Brymo, he decided to take control of his career after realizing he needed to become financially independent.

“I was becoming a man. I was already 29 years old when it all started. I needed to make a living,” he said.

The singer alleged that Chocolate City failed to fulfill certain obligations in his contract, claiming he personally sourced producers and financed the recording of his debut album after the label allegedly did not provide the agreed support.

Brymo further claimed that despite the success of his album Son of a Kapenta, he has never received royalties from the project.

“They still have the album to this day. I’ve not made anything from it. Nothing,” he alleged.
