‘Struggle continues, victory is certain’ – Sowore speaks on prison remand

Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, has reacted after a federal high court in Abuja ordered his remand in Kuje prison over his absence from a scheduled court appearance in an ongoing case.

Sowore said his absence was due to consultations with his new legal team led by Olumide-Fusika, adding that his lawyer had duly informed the court of the development.

He expressed disappointment that the court proceeded to order his remand despite the explanation provided on his absence.

However, the activist said the ruling would not deter him, insisting that imprisonment cannot weaken his political and legal struggle.

Sowore described the case against him as “bogus,” maintaining that his continued activism and legal battles are rooted in what he called the fight for justice and national liberation.

He stated that incarceration has never defeated a just cause, adding that it would not do so in his case.

“The struggle continues. Victory is certain,” he said, urging his supporters and members of his movement to remain steadfast in their pursuit of what he described as a revolution against oppression, injustice, and misrule in the country.
