Nigerian security forces have recorded another significant win in Borno State, as troops of Operation Hadin Kai arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics supplier in Damboa, cutting into one of the hidden networks that help terrorists survive in remote areas.
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Malam Bako Ibrahim, was apprehended on June 7 along the Sierra 4 axis in Damboa Local Government Area during an intelligence-led operation by troops of 19 Battalion and 25 Brigade Garrison, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force.
Items reportedly recovered from the suspect included 86 mosquito nets, a bicycle, a transistor radio, a mobile phone, two calculators, a tyre pump, roofing sheet laths, wall sheet laths, poly bags, nylon bags and ₦9,200 cash.
Though seemingly ordinary, such materials can support movement, shelter, communication and survival in terrorist hideouts.
The suspect is currently undergoing further investigation at the Headquarters of 25 Brigade to determine the full extent of his involvement and identify other members of the suspected logistics network.
The arrest serves as a reminder that terrorism does not survive by guns and fighters alone, but through supply chains, informants, transporters and individuals willing to provide logistical support to criminals hiding in remote areas.
Every supply route disrupted weakens such networks, and every collaborator exposed makes communities safer.
