Abia-born Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Monday Ubani, has pledged to partner with the Guide of Online Media Editors and Publishers (GOMEP) in promoting justice, equity, good governance and societal development.

Ubani gave the assurance when the National President of GOMEP, Comrade Otti Treasure, visited him at his country home in Umuosoko, Awomukwu, Abia State.

He described the legal profession and the media as partners in the task of building a better society, saying both institutions play critical roles in defending citizens’ rights, strengthening democracy and holding leaders accountable.

According to him, while lawyers protect the rule of law and fundamental rights, the media remains vital in shaping public opinion and demanding accountability from those in authority.

Ubani urged public office holders to embrace value-based leadership and pursue policies that directly improve the lives of the people.

He assured GOMEP of his readiness to work with the association in advancing a fair and equitable society where leadership is responsive to the needs of citizens.

Earlier, the GOMEP National President, Comrade Otti Treasure, commended Ubani for his contributions to the legal profession, human rights and social justice in Nigeria.

He said the association would continue to collaborate with individuals and institutions committed to justice, accountability and responsible leadership.

Treasure was accompanied by the National Publicity Secretary, Tochukwu Eluwa, and the National Treasurer, Charity Uwakwe.
