APC will win Osun gov poll – Oyetola’s wife

Former Osun State First Lady, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola, on Saturday expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress would emerge victorious in the August 15 governorship election in the state.

She said the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, had the capacity to transform the state.

Mrs Oyetola spoke in Osogbo while leading hundreds of women under the Akoni Obinrin Support Group on a “Walk to Win” rally organised to mobilise support for the APC governorship candidate ahead of the poll.

Addressing supporters after the march through major streets of the state capital, she said the rally was aimed at demonstrating the party’s grassroots strength and encouraging eligible voters to support the APC in the election.

Mrs Oyetola added that Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, possessed the experience and competence required to manage the state’s economy.

“I am here to show our support for the APC and its candidate in Osun State and to tell the entire world that the APC is firmly on the ground in Osun. We are here to encourage everybody to come out en masse and vote for AMBO.

“Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will emerge victorious on August 15. He has a lot of good plans for the people of Osun. He is a prudent manager. We have seen his record in the banking sector and we believe he has the capacity to manage the economy of Osun State and improve the welfare of the people,” she said.

The former First Lady of the state also disclosed that members of the support group would commence a statewide door-to-door mobilisation campaign after the rally, saying structures had already been established across all local government areas and wards in the state.

She added that the group was mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, insisting that the APC remained a formidable political force in Osun.

Also speaking, the wife of the APC governorship candidate, Dr Sekinah Oyebamiji, commended the Akoni Obinrin Support Group for organising the rally and assured residents that the governorship election would be peaceful, with adequate security arrangements to protect voters.

The Director-General of the Akoni Obinrin Support Group, Funke Egbemode, said the movement was established to promote greater participation of women in politics and governance.

She urged members to intensify their door-to-door campaign to ensure the victory of the APC governorship candidate in the August 15 poll.
