APC’s Alli visits freed Oriire victims, assures support for recovery, reintegration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has described the abduction of the 44 victims who were rescued on Friday as a painful reminder of the daunting security challenge confronting the nation.

Alli made this known during his visit to the victims who were undergoing medical rehabilitation at the Nigerian Army medical facility in Ibadan on Monday.
The governorship candidate, who was moved to tears having imagined the trauma suffered by the victims while in captivity, assured them of the needed support.
“I will do everything within my capacity to ensure that they receive the necessary support and succour to aid their recovery and reintegration into normal life,” he assured.
He condoled with the bereaved families of the gallant officers who lost their lives in their service to the fatherland during the operation.
“The nation owes these fallen heroes and innocent victims an everlasting debt of gratitude. May Almighty God forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest.
“May the Almighty God comfort their families with the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses.”

The APC gubernatorial candidate commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to tackling insecurity and the efforts toward rescuing the 44 victims who were held captives by the gunmen for 56 days.
Alli also applauded the gallantry, professionalism and sacrifices of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies who participated in the rescue operation.
He equally lauded the support of the traditional rulers, community leaders, volunteers, stakeholders, and Nigerians whose prayers, cooperation, and support led to the successful rescue mission of the abductees.
He described the operation as a demonstration of what could be achieved through unity, patriotism, and determination to defeat criminal elements threatening the peace and security of the nation.
