Arrival of surveillance aircraft testament to Makinde’s leadership — APM’s Ajadi

Allied People’s Movement (APM) senatorial candidate for Oyo Central, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has commended Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde over the arrival of two surveillance aircraft procured to strengthen the state’s security architecture.
Ajadi, in a statement on Tuesday, described the delivery of the aircraft as a demonstration of Makinde’s commitment to tackling insecurity, saying it reflects the governor’s leadership and long-term approach to governance.
The aircraft were received on Tuesday at the newly upgraded tarmac of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, where Governor Makinde said the investment would enhance intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance and rapid response to security threats across Oyo.

The governor explained that the decision to acquire the aircraft predated the recent abduction of pupils and teachers from Ahoro Community Grammar School in Oriire Local Government Area, noting that the procurement was part of a broader security strategy rather than a reaction to the incident.
Reacting to the development in a statement, Ajadi said the arrival of the aircraft had vindicated the governor and disproved critics who questioned the procurement plan.
According to him, the successful delivery of the aircraft has shown that those who doubted the governor’s commitment to improving security were mistaken.
Ajadi added that Makinde had set a benchmark for other state governments by investing in modern technology to combat insecurity and criminal activities.
He expressed confidence that the surveillance aircraft would improve intelligence gathering, enable early detection of security threats and support law enforcement agencies in apprehending criminals.
He also praised the governor’s resolve to confront insecurity through strategic investments.
“I commend Governor Seyi Makinde on this feat. The arrival of the surveillance aircraft is a testimony to his determination to wipe out criminality.
“It is a thing of joy that this is coming a few weeks after the safe rescue of the Oriire kidnap victims,” Ajadi said.
