Arsenal signs Greece international Tzolis

Arsenal have completed the signing of Greece international Christos Tzolis on a long-term contract, the Premier League champions announced on Thursday, July 23.

The club did not disclose the transfer fee, although reports indicate the 24-year-old joined from Club Brugge in a deal worth around £34 million ($45 million). He is expected to replace Leandro Trossard, who recently moved to Besiktas.

Tzolis becomes Arsenal’s third permanent signing of the current transfer window, arriving two days after the club missed out on Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in a reported British-record £117 million ($157 million) deal.

The Greek winger impressed during his time at Club Brugge, scoring 43 goals in 108 appearances and helping the Belgian side win the league title last season. He also featured against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, where Brugge suffered a 3-0 defeat.

Tzolis previously played in England after joining Norwich City from PAOK Thessaloniki in 2021. During his spell with Norwich, he also spent time on loan at FC Twente in the Netherlands and Fortuna Düsseldorf in Germany before completing a move to Club Brugge in 2024.

The winger has earned 34 caps for the Greece national team. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta welcomed the signing and praised the attacker’s qualities. Berta said:

“Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player. He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.”
