July 3 is a great day to get married! Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, who wed on that day five years ago, certainly seem to think so, as Stefani posted a reel of their special anniversary date to Instagram on Monday that led fans to wonder if Stefani and Shelton were actually celebrating at another couple’s July 3rd wedding.

Stefani merely termed the anniversary footage a “date night” with her “forever,” but fans quickly zoomed in on the fact that the two were in New York City — where two other very famous people were hosting a blowout A-list wedding, namely Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Stefani, 56, and Shelton, 50, were dressed for the occasion, with Stefani donning a close-fitting formal Yara Shoemaker pink dress and Shelton in a classic tux. Glimpses outside the window showed what appeared to be a NYC skyline, and a garment bag in the closet sported a tag that said “Blake NYC.”

While the “Hollaback Girl” singer teased that “Blake will not let me take any pictures of him,” she got plenty of shots of him both during their getting-glam period and later, apparently getting a ride back after the evening. Fans were quick to note that the couple were in NYC on a momentous day. “Looks like y’all went to a certain wedding 😉 💍,” said one, while another noted, “Did we go to a wedding for the wedding anniversary??? 🤔

While Shelton and Stefani, who began dating in 2015 after meeting as coaches on the NBC singing competition “The Voice,” married in 2021 on the same day as Swift and Kelce, the two weddings were markedly different. The former chose to tie the knot on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, while Swift and Kelce opted for a star-studded, blow-out wedding extravaganza at Madison Square Garden. On the actual day of their anniversary, Stefani chose to share a carousel of wedding photos from their own special day, captioning it “5 years married to my forever.”

Shelton followed suit, posting his own collection of wedding shots, and noting ‘5 years and every day is better than the last… I love you @gwenstefani SHELTON!!!! Happy anniversary my pretty girl!!!!”
