Music executive Diddy wants woman who sued him to pay for ‘frivolous’ lawsuit

Sean “Diddy” Combs has asked a federal judge to sanction a woman suing him and her attorneys, arguing that their lawsuit is legally baseless and should never have been refiled.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Combs is seeking sanctions against Grace O’Marcaigh and her legal team after they filed an amended complaint despite an earlier ruling that California courts lacked personal jurisdiction over him.

Diddy’s lawyers argue that the amended filing simply repeated the same jurisdictional arguments that had already been rejected by the court instead of addressing the deficiencies identified by the judge. They claim O’Marcaigh and her attorneys ignored the court’s ruling, forcing Combs to incur additional legal expenses defending what they describe as a meritless case. Combs is asking the judge to order O’Marcaigh and her lawyers to pay sanctions, including attorney fees and court costs.

O’Marcaigh’s attorneys have disputed that request. In correspondence attached to the filing, they argue that the amended complaint includes new allegations linking Combs to California through the yacht charter that is central to the lawsuit. They also maintain that the court granted them permission to amend the complaint and insist the sanctions request has no legal basis.

The lawsuit stems from an alleged incident aboard a yacht in the Caribbean in 2022. O’Marcaigh claims Diddy’s son, Christian “King” Combs, assaulted her while she was working as a steward on the vessel and alleges that Sean Combs bears civil responsibility for the alleged conduct. Sean Combs has denied the allegations.
