Dochterman Insurance Unveils Integrated Cyber Risk Program Amidst DoD CMMC 2.0 Mandate

Dochterman Insurance, a specialist independent commercial insurance brokerage serving the US manufacturing sector, has launched a comprehensive cyber risk program designed to streamline compliance and risk management for its clients. This integrated offering combines CyberCube’s advanced cyber risk analytics platform with IT assessment and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 compliance services provided by Resource Computer Solutions (RCS).
The initiative addresses a critical need for manufacturers, offering a single point of contact for cyber risk identification, IT remediation, federal compliance certification, and insurance placement. Previously, these essential functions necessitated engagement with multiple, disparate vendors, a process Dochterman notes was often inefficient and complex.
This launch is particularly timely, coinciding with the Department of Defense’s phased enforcement of CMMC 2.0 requirements across its supply chain. Phase 1, impacting contractors, commenced on November 10, 2025. Crucially, Phase 2, set to begin on November 10, 2026, will mandate third-party certification for the majority of contracts involving Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Manufacturers failing to achieve this certification will be disqualified from bidding on or retaining Department of Defense contracts, underscoring the urgent need for robust compliance solutions.
The Dochterman program leverages CyberCube’s Broking Manager, Prep Module, and Cyber Connect tools to model potential financial losses stemming from prevalent threats such as ransomware, operational disruptions, and supply chain attacks. This allows for a precise quantification of a manufacturer’s cyber exposure. Simultaneously, RCS conducts thorough security assessments against NIST 800-171 controls, managing the necessary remediation efforts and documentation required for CMMC certification.
Michael Dochterman, CEO of Dochterman, highlighted the program’s strategic intent: “Manufacturers recognise the importance of achieving compliance but often lack the internal resources and expertise needed. Many who attempt to handle it themselves fail, and the process can be highly disruptive to their operations. To address this, we developed a program that provides a single team responsible for identifying risks, fixing vulnerabilities, preparing for CMMC certification, and selecting appropriate insurance – all from experts who understand the realities of a shop floor. Since manufacturing is our sole focus, this dedicated approach is what makes it effective.”
By integrating CyberCube’s analytical capabilities with RCS’s compliance expertise, Dochterman aims to translate complex technical cyber risks into actionable financial insights for manufacturers. Nate Brink, Head of Broker Partnerships at CyberCube, commented, “By adopting CyberCube’s solutions, Dochterman is translating technical cyber risks into financial conversations that manufacturers can act on. Together, we’re helping manufacturers make more informed decisions about resilience and insurance protection.”
Tim Coates, CEO of Resource Computer Solutions, added, “At Resource Computer Solutions, we are focused on helping manufacturers turn cybersecurity and compliance into a strategic advantage. By aligning CMMC 2.0 requirements with practical, real-world implementation, we enable our clients to strengthen their security posture while maintaining operational efficiency and competitiveness.” The resulting cyber insurance policies are tailored based on both risk data and the client’s improved security posture, potentially leading to significant premium discounts.
