DSS Rescues Kidnapped Polytechnic Students in Zamfara

All four of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda students who were kidnapped have been freed by Department of State Services agents in Zamfara State, according to a news reporter who cited a security expert.

Security expert Zagazola Makama revealed the development in an online post, claiming that DSS agents, acting on intelligence, released the four male and one female students late on Wednesday without demanding payment of a ransom.

He said one of the kidn@ppers was arrested during the operation, while others did not survive the encounter.

The students were reportedly abducted on June 3 at their off-campus hostel in the Low-cost area of Kaura Namoda town, after armed b@ndits stormed the building and seized six of them.

Following the earlier release of two of the six students, Makama said security forces stepped up an intelligence-led operation that ultimately secured the safe return of the remaining students, to the relief of all involved.
