Ghana international Mohammed Fuseini was the victim of a violent robbery in Brussels on Sunday, July 26, 2026, after he was attacked by a group of five hooded men.

The 24-year-old Royale Union Saint-Gilloise winger was sitting in his parked car in broad daylight when the attackers struck.

Videos of the incident, which have been shared widely on social media and shown on Belgian television, show the men surrounding Fuseini’s car, pulling him out of the vehicle and placing him in a chokehold during the attack.

According to Belgian media reports, the robbers stole two iPhones, his wallet and a Rolex Datejust watch worth between €8,000 and €14,000 before fleeing the scene.

The reports also said the attackers threw Fuseini to the ground before escaping.

Fuseini was taken to the hospital after the attack, where he underwent medical examinations before being discharged.

Despite the incident, the winger returned to Union Saint-Gilloise’s pre-season training on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Club spokesperson Thijs Roelen said the player was shaken by the incident but was fit enough to train.

“Physically, the damage is limited. He trained normally with us again yesterday,” he said.

The Brussels prosecutor’s office confirmed on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, that one suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery.
