JAMB begins registration for NCE, non-technology agricultural programmes

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the registration of candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in Colleges of Education and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes in Polytechnics across the country.

Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, announced this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

The Board urged interested candidates who possess the required O’Level credits to register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) located in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) nationwide.

Benjamin explained that, in line with the Federal Government’s policy, candidates seeking admission into NCE and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes are no longer required to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

He disclosed that the Board has developed a robust admission process to ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted into the programmes, while maintaining and enhancing their quality and standards.

Under the new arrangement, eligible candidates are only required to present their O’Level credentials at any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC to complete their registration, without writing the annual UTME.

JAMB urged qualified candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting the designated registration centres in Colleges of Education or JAMB offices across the country to complete the registration process.

The Board also announced that candidates who participated in the 2026 UTME but have now chosen to pursue NCE or Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes can convert their applications at any IPRC or JAMB PRC at no additional cost.

JAMB noted that the policy is designed to expand access to NCE and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes while preserving and improving the quality of these critical educational pathways.

The Board reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and efficient admission process that supports the Federal Government’s drive to strengthen teacher education and agricultural manpower development in Nigeria.
