Alhaji Lawal Hamisu, a businessman, asked a Shari’a court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, on Thursday to order Muhammad, his 25-year-old son, to leave his home.
H.B. Debo, Lawal’s attorney, informed the court that his client’s son can support himself and rent a place to reside because he has a successful business.
Lawal complained that his son disrespects and refuses to obey him, adding that he wants him to vacate his house within two weeks.
Responding, Muhammad explained that times are hard for him, saying his business is not doing well.
He said he works under someone else and cannot afford to rent his own accommodation, noting that he relies on proceeds from the business to feed his family and pay school fees.
The judge, Mallam Yakubu Abdullahi, adjourned the case until August 8 for ruling.
