Kano court sentences man to 6 months imprisonment for insulting and assaulting his parents


A Sharia Court sitting at Sharada Hisbah in Kano State has sentenced one Mohammed Habibu to six months imprisonment without the option of a fine for insulting and assaulting his parents.
The court heard that the convict had been mistreating and insulting his parents after they advised him to desist from engaging in immoral activities.
The charges were read to him by the court registrar, Mohammed Habibu pleaded guilty to all counts.
Presiding Judge, Justice Sani Tanimu Sani Hausawa, called witnesses to confirm the defendant’s confession before the court.
The judge, after considering the evidence and the guilty plea, convicted him and sentenced him to six months in a correctional centre without the option of a fine.
