Lagos ADC Governorship Candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Loses Mother

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress>, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has announced the passing of his mother, Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (née Waboso).

Rhodes-Vivour disclosed the sad news on Monday in a heartfelt message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing deep sorrow over the loss while giving thanks to God for what he described as a life of purpose, love and lasting impact.

According to him, his late mother was a devoted wife, caring mother and loving grandmother whose unwavering support and strength served as the foundation of their family.

> “With sadness in our hearts and gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the call to glory of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (née Waboso),” he wrote.

“A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. The epitome of love. She will be sorely missed. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”

 

In a separate memorial tribute, the Rhodes-Vivour family celebrated the life and legacy of the deceased, describing her as a compassionate and selfless woman whose kindness, warmth and dedication touched countless lives.

The tribute highlighted her enduring commitment to family, faith and service, noting that she lived a life marked by love, generosity and integrity.

Messages of condolence have continued to pour in from political associates, supporters, friends and well-wishers, who have expressed sympathy with the Rhodes-Vivour family and prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul.

Funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be announced in due course.
