The Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) has declared one of its personnel, Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu, wanted over his alleged involvement in the illegal sale and supply of military uniforms to t3rrorists and other criminal elements.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Major Oluwatope Aluko, preliminary investigations showed that the soldier, who served at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory, absconded from his unit on June 3, 2026.
The Corps said intensive efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest him so he can face full investigation and appropriate disciplinary measures in line with existing military laws.
It stated clearly that it operates a zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct, indiscipline, or any act that could undermine the operational effectiveness, integrity and reputation of the Nigerian Army or threaten national security.
Military authorities warned that any personnel found to have assisted t3rrorists, criminals or other non-state actors through the unauthorised sale, diversion or distribution of military uniforms, accoutrements or other controlled items would face the full weight of both military and civil law.
The Corps therefore appealed to the public to support ongoing efforts by supplying credible information that could lead to the arrest of the wanted soldier, noting that such information should be reported without delay to the nearest military formation or any security agency.
It reassured Nigerians of its unwavering commitment to accountability, professionalism and the protection of military assets, adding that it will continue strengthening internal control measures and ensure every allegation of misconduct is thoroughly investigated, with culpable persons held fully accountable.
