Nigerian woman arrested in Libya for running illegal abortion clinic

Police in Benghazi, Libya, have dismantled an illegal medical operation following the arrest of a Nigerian woman accused of converting a residential property into an unauthorized delivery and abortion clinic.
According to police reports, the suspect utilized the private home to perform covert medical procedures, including unauthorized childbirth services and illegal pregnancy terminations, operating entirely outside the nation’s healthcare regulations and licensing standards.
Authorities launched an investigation after receiving intelligence regarding suspicious activity and high volumes of traffic at the residential location.
Upon executing a search warrant, officers discovered medical equipment, pharmaceutical supplies, and records implicating the dwelling in clandestine medical procedures.
The suspect is currently in police custody facing multiple charges related to practicing medicine without a license and operating an illegal health facility.
