âAnti-abortion campaigners are not pro-life, they are pro-controlâ â Singer, Olivia Rodrigo shares her views on reproductive rights

American singer Olivia Rodrigo has weighed in on the debate over reproductive rights, arguing that people who oppose abortion are motivated more by control than protecting lives.
Speaking during a discussion with the Center for Reproductive Rights, the Grammy-winning singer questioned restrictions on women’s healthcare, including access to abortion medication and midwifery services.
Reacting to stories of women who suffered serious health complications after being denied abortions, Rodrigo said: “Not very pro-life to harm these women’s health for the long term. And to see them in the ICU is so terrifying. It’s pro-control.”
She also questioned why some states continue to impose strict restrictions on midwifery, saying she does not understand the reasoning behind limiting women’s healthcare choices.
