President Trump announces plans to honour 16-year-old lifeguard for rescuing a boy from rough surf off the California coast (Video)

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to honour a 16-year-old lifeguard, identified only as Ryder, at the White House after the teenager rescued a boy from rough surf off the California coast.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Trump said Ryder would be invited to the White House alongside his family and the boy he saved to receive one of the nation’s highest civilian honours in recognition of his courage.
“We’re going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor. Very brave, he deserves it!” Trump wrote.
