According to a news correspondent, presidential spokesman Daniel Bwala was informed by television program anchor Rufai Oseni that he would always be held accountable.
Rufai claimed in a social media post on Thursday that he still thought of Bwala as a brother and that he had nothing personal against him.
The host claims that the media is just holding Bwala responsible and has no animosity for him.
He wrote that Bwala remains his brother but stressed that he would continue to hold him to account, insisting he had nothing against him personally.
He noted that Bwala could brand him as hate-filled for doing so, but reminded him that he had once praised Rufai’s style and called him a formidable journalist.
He added that the same person now being accused of harbouring hatred was the same person Bwala had readily appeared on air with in the past to criticise the very party he now represents.
Rufai said all he was asking was whether Bwala truly believed in his own past statements, referencing an interview in which Bwala had appeared to downplay Peter Obi’s frugality by claiming he had seen him in a shop.
He questioned whether everything said in that interview could still be taken at face value, reiterating that the media doesn’t hate Bwala it simply holds him accountable and urging for accountability all around.
