Toddler found crying beside dying mum as elephant rampages leave 3 dead

A toddler was found crying next to her dying mum as terrifying elephant attacks in India’s Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district killed two. A wild elephant is said to have entered Talgaon village near the Kapu Forest Range, at around 4am on Saturday, forcing panicked residents to bolt from their homes.
The mother, 37-year-old Shakuntala Bai and her young daughter were among those attempting to flee, but the former was trampled and critically injured by the elephant. The child just managed to escape being badly hurt by the creature herself, The Times of India reports. A team from the state’s forest department was scrambled to the scene, and discovered the young girl at her mother’s side crying for help.
