Two forest guards and locals k!lled, soldier missing as bandits attack Kebbi community

Two security operatives and 2 locals were k!lled while a soldier was declared missing in an attack on Tudun Bicci community in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The Chairman of Danko Wasagu Local Government, Hussaini Aliyu Bena, confirmed the incident to journalists on telephone.

But he said contrary to the report making the rounds that a soldier was k!lled, it was two forest guards and two locals that were k!lled, while the soldier declared missing.

He said the incident happened during a gun duel with bandits that attacked farmers on their farms.

“Many of the bandits were k!lled during the encounter while others fled with gunshot wounds,” he said.

He added that the state government in collaboration with security agencies and the local government were taking measures to bring an end to the incessant attacks and kidnappings in the area.

“The security challenges we are facing in this area is as a result of the existing bandit camps in neighbouring states of Zamfara and Niger.”

He called on the communities to remain calm as government and security agencies strategize on measures to restore peace to the area.
