Woman told she had no way of becoming pregnant welcomes triplets

A woman told by medical professionals that she would likely “never” become pregnant has welcomed triplets.
Marina and Bishoy Salib, both from England, learned in 2024 that, based on a test that measures egg count, they would likely “never” be able to conceive a child together.
By the end of 2025, however, they had welcomed not one, but three children, whom Bishoy, 33, said the couple calls “our miracles.”

After months of trying to have children, Marina, 30, turned to doctors for help.
In August 2024, Marina did an anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) test, which “measures levels of anti-mullerian hormone, which corresponds to your egg count.”
AMH tests can provide insight into a woman’s reproductive health; high levels of the hormone correspond to a higher number of eggs and a higher ovarian reserve, whereas lower levels indicate the opposite.
Marina said she was informed that, based on the test results, she had a “significantly diminished ovarian reserve.”
Recalling the experience in a sit-down interview with SWNS, Bishoy said, “They told us that my wife can’t get pregnant.”
“When we went and saw a specialist, he told her there is no way for you to get pregnant,” he recalled.
But Bishoy never gave up hope.
“I kept telling her, we walk by faith, not by sight. I don’t mind seeing if we can adopt a baby, I really don’t mind,” he said of his wife.
“But she was very devastated, she was crying a lot — she was always asking herself, ‘Why, why can’t I have babies?’”
The couple said doctors suggested the option of conceiving with an egg donation, but this went against their religious beliefs. They are members of the Coptic Orthodox Church, which is a Christian religion in Egypt.
“I told the specialist, we are Christians, and we still believe in miracles,” said Bishoy. “This is what I told the specialist at the time, and when I went to the GP, she told us again: ‘The only way for her to get pregnant is with egg donation — unfortunately, this is the only path to go.’ ”
The couple kept trying to conceive, and on May 19, 2025, their “miracle” came in the form of a positive pregnancy test.
Bishoy asked her to take the pregnancy test, though he said he couldn’t explain why.
“She looked at me, and she said, ‘Why would I do the pregnancy test if they told me I don’t produce eggs?’ ” he recalled, adding, “Honestly, I don’t know why I asked her at all.”
But when the test was positive, Marina was so “shocked,” she “couldn’t even stand, she was shaking,” her husband said.
“She didn’t know what to say, she had tears in her eyes and was laughing at the same time.”
“She did the test at least five times, just to be sure that she was pregnant, before calling me and telling me about it,” he added.
Later, they learned at a hospital visit that their “miracle” baby was actually three babies, and on Nov. 28, 2025, they welcomed their non-identical triplets: daughter Miracle and sons Levi and Suriel.

Recalling the moment they were born, Bishoy said, “The first cry when they came out from the tummy. The laugh that we had. She was laughing, crying and happy for hearing the three babies crying.”
“Even the doctors didn’t expect it,” he added of the experience. “It was just magical.”
“We were told we might never have kids. It was heartbreaking, but we never gave up hope,” Bishoy said. “We waited so long for one, and three showed up and it was a miracle.”
