World Cup: Argentina captain Messi told he’s not football’s greatest player

Rwanda coach, Stephen Constantine, has declared that Argentina captain Lionel Messi is not football’s greatest player.
Constantine insisted that when Messi is not with the ball, Argentina plays with 10 men, adding that his teammates cover for him.
He, however, admitted that the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner is almost unstoppable when he is with the ball.
“When he has the ball, he’s almost unstoppable. But without it, you’re effectively playing with 10 men because the others have to cover his work,” Constantine said (via Times of India) ahead of Argentina’s World Cup final with Spain on Sunday night.
“Argentina do that brilliantly. So, yeah, no, no, for me, he’s not the best. He’s one of the best, but he’s not. I wouldn’t say he is the best.”
Messi has been one of the most outstanding players in the 2026 World Cup.
The Inter Miami forward has scored eight goals and provided four assists at the tournament.
