23 Year Old Herder Arrested Over Cattle Grazing at Jos Golf Club

Operation Enduring Peace has apprehended a 23-year-old herder for allegedly conducting unauthorized grazing at the Lamingo Golf Club in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Military personnel responded to reports of illegal livestock grazing at the recreational facility at approximately 4:18pm on August 12, 2026.

Upon reaching the location, troops detained the herder, identified as Auwal Sani, alongside his cattle.

The suspect was placed in custody for investigation and appropriate action.

The operation reflects ongoing efforts by security forces to prevent unauthorized grazing, safeguard agricultural and recreational installations and foster harmonious relations between farming and herding communities across Plateau State.
