Clothing Brand Sells T-Shirt That Doesn’t Require Washing for Up to a Month of Daily Wear

HercLeon, the company behind self-cleaning underwear, has introduced a shirt that it claims can remain fresh for more than a month without washing.

The HercShirt V5.0 recently attracted attention online because of its unusual odour-fighting design.

The claim may sound difficult to believe, especially during summer when people sweat more. However, HercLeon says the shirt can remain free from unpleasant smells even after heavy use.

The company wove seven special ingredients directly into the fabric. These include copper, silver, zinc, gold, volcanic ash and two ingredients that remain secret.

Each material reportedly performs a different function. Copper helps stop the growth of bacteria that cause body odour. Zinc neutralises strong sulphur compounds produced by sweat.

Volcanic ash absorbs moisture and smells from the surrounding environment. It works like a sponge inside the fabric.

According to HercLeon’s Kickstarter campaign, the HercShirt V5.0 can remain fresh for more than a month, even when worn regularly.

The company also claims the shirt will last longer than an ordinary T-shirt because it requires fewer washes.

The HercShirt V5.0 costs $79. HercLeon says one shirt can last longer than seven regular T-shirts, making it a possible long-term investment.

The shirt is expected to begin shipping in early November. It will initially be available only in black.

HercLeon plans to introduce navy blue, burgundy and dark green versions later.

Customers who consider $79 too expensive can choose a $39 budget version. That option reportedly stays fresh for three days of heavy use.

The company also offers a standard version that can allegedly remain fresh for up to 14 days without washing.
