Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has reacted to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo’s comments ridiculing Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Davido, who has consistently supported his uncle in the run-up to the August 15 Osun State governorship election, reacted on Friday by posting what looked to be Okpebholo’s WAEC results on his Instagram Stories.
Although the singer did not include a commentary with the post, it was generally understood as a response to the governor’s remarks regarding Adeleke.
The development comes a day after Okpebholo, while campaigning for All Progressives Congress governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO, mocked the Osun governor for his love of dancing.
At the APC campaign rally, which was also attended by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Okpebholo questioned Adeleke’s leadership style and suggested that his dancing distracted him from his responsibilities.
He will dance before someone signs any papers. Do you not feel tired? This man has been dancing for the past four years. “He will dance before he eats breakfast or drinks tea,” the Edo governor stated.
Okpebholo also urged voters to solicit donations from political opponents but vote for the APC candidate in the August 15 governorship election.
Davido has been actively campaigning for Governor Adeleke’s re-election, attending campaign rallies and most recently calling for a peaceful, free, and fair election in Osun State.
