Lagos Stepfather Detained Over Repeated Assault Of Teenage Daughter

A 38-year-old man identified as Michael has been detained by the Lagos State Police Command alongside a second suspect over allegations of s£xually @busing his 13-year-old stepdaughter.

Police apprehended the stepfather in the Agege area on Sunday following reports that the teenager had endured repeated assault whilst residing with him.

The victim allegedly fled home on multiple occasions before returning to her biological father, to whom she disclosed the abuse.

Her father subsequently filed a complaint at a Ketu police station, triggering the investigation that led to the suspect’s arrest.

The detention of the stepfather prompted police to also apprehend the victim’s boyfriend, whom investigators are treating as a secondary suspect in the matter.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi confirmed both arrests and disclosed that the teenager has been referred for medical evaluation at Mirabel Centre.

She stated the case would transfer to the Gender Unit in Ikeja on Tuesday for continued investigation.

The incident echoes a similar case from February 2025, when police arrested a 38-year-old man and his associate in the Okokomaiko area on related charges.

In that matter, a teenager disclosed to her mother that her stepfather had s£xually @bused her, resulting in pregnancy.

That case was similarly transferred to the Gender Unit for investigation.
