Osun Election, INEC Reveals How Many Voters Have Their PVCs

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that of the 2,339,233 voters registered in Osun State, 1,906,390 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards.

A senior official released this statement on Thursday, confirming that polling unit-level PVC collection data has been published on the commission’s website.

The collected cards represent 81.50 per cent of registered voters.

The remaining 426,842 uncollected cards, accounting for 18.50 per cent, are being held by the Central Bank of Nigeria in keeping with established protocols.

The commission noted that some electors reported their cards damaged, defaced, or lost and requested replacements ahead of the election.

Of these applicants, 6,101 successfully generated downloadable copies of replacement PVCs that will allow them to vote.

The electoral body reiterated its readiness to oversee the upcoming governorship election, pledging a transparent and credible process to all stakeholders including political parties, civil society groups and media organisations.

The election is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The commission called on all eligible voters who have collected their PVCs to turn out and cast their votes peacefully across the state’s polling stations.
