Osun election: INEC says 81% of PVCs collected, 432,843 uncollected

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee Chairman, Mohammed Haruna, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to him, the figure represents 81.50 per cent of the 2,339,233 registered voters in the state.
Haruna said 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent of registered voters, remained uncollected and had been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He added that some registered voters whose PVCs were damaged, defaced or lost had applied for replacements.
Haruna said 6,101 applicants printed downloadable copies of their replacement PVCs.
He also disclosed that INEC had published a polling-unit-by-polling-unit breakdown of the collected PVCs on its website.
The commission assured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and residents of its readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
