Peter Obi Demands Urgent Action After Mass Abduction In Niger State

Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, has called the reported mass abduction and k!lling of residents in Niger State an emergency needing urgent action from government.

He said the attacks should shake every Nigerian’s conscience and force the government to respond.

Obi said residents were att@cked in their communities and even during prayer time at mosques.

Reports suggest around 600 people, mostly women, children and elderly, were abducted.

About 30 may have been k!lled.

The exact numbers are still being confirmed.

He said it is unacceptable that Nigerians can be att@cked in broad daylight, in places of worship, and taken into forests.

He called on the government to treat this as an emergency and use smart security operations to rescue the victims, protect the affected communities and break up the networks helping the att@ckers operate.

Obi noted that the police said difficult terrain and a collapsed bridge made rescue efforts harder.

He used this to push his message that the government should focus on fixing existing infrastructure.

He warned that elections come and go, but lives lost to insecurity cannot be brought back.

He urged the government to put the safety of Nigerians first before thinking about politics.

He expressed support for the Niger State Government and the families of those who were abducted or k!lled, urging authorities to bring people home and show Nigerians that government exists to protect them.
