Police arrest 20-year-old man for st@bbing friend to d3ath in Jigawa

Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man identified as Saminu Ibrahim for st@bbing his friend to d3ath during a violent altercation in Ringim Local Government Area of the state. 

The spokesperson for the command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, August 3, 2026.

According to the PPRO, Ibrahim allegedly stabbed the deceased in the chest with a sharp metal object, locally known as Danbuda.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed d3ad while receiving treatment.

The case is under investigation and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Dutse, for further investigation before prosecution.

“Today, Monday, 3rd July 2026, at about 1030hrs, the Command received a report of a culpable homicide incident that occurred at Dabigel Village, Ringim Local Government Area,” the statement read.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that a misunderstanding between two 20-year-old youths degenerated into violence, during which one of them allegedly st@bbed the other with a sharp metal object (Danbuda) on his chest.

“The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed d3ad by a medical doctor while receiving treatment. 

“Acting swiftly, police operatives arrested one Saminu Ibrahim ‘m’ 20yrs of Gidan Gona village, Ringim LGA, in connection with the incident. 

“The case is currently under investigation, after which the suspect will be transferred to SCID Dutse for discreet investigation. 

“Upon completion of investigation, the suspect will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction to face the full weight of the law.”
