Police Arrest Two Men After Tramadol Discovery in Asaba

The Delta State Police Command has detained two suspected narcotics dealers and seized 132 sachets of tramadol from them.

A police spokesperson disclosed this on Friday.

Officers from a patrol unit during a stop-and-search operation along a road in Asaba on August 13, 2026, intercepted a minibus with a specific registration number.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 132 sachets of 100mg tramadol and the arrest of two individuals identified as Hillary Osondu and Abubakar Bello, both aged 54.

The suspects remain in custody whilst investigation continues.

In a separate incident on the same date, law enforcement received a report that a vehicle had been stolen from a parking location in Warri.

Detectives from the division coordinated with patrol operatives to locate the vehicle along a road in Ughelli within approximately two hours of the report being filed.

Efforts continue to identify and apprehend those responsible for the theft.

The state’s Police Commissioner commended operatives for their swift response and urged officers across the command to sustain the enforcement momentum through proactive, intelligence-driven policing.

He urged residents to remain alert and furnish police with credible information regarding suspicious individuals and activities, assuring that the command would continue deploying resources toward crime prevention and detection statewide.
