Police Rescue 6 Children as Suspected Child Trafficker Is Arrested in Abia

Law enforcement authorities in Abia State have apprehended a 51-year-old man from Mbano in Imo State on suspicion of conspiracy and child tr@fficking.
The individual, identified as Nnamdi Lazarus, was detained through an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Violent Crime Response Unit in Aba North while residing in Uratta, Abia State.
Investigators discovered that the suspect had been housing and concealing six children.
All six have been safely recovered and returned to their respective families.
The police command indicated that the investigation remains active, with efforts ongoing to identify and apprehend additional members of the tr@fficking network.
Upon completion of the investigative process, the suspect will face prosecution.
The Abia State Police Command emphasised its commitment to safeguarding lives and property through intelligence-driven law enforcement operations and assured the public that the state will offer no sanctuary to criminal actors.
