A video showing a pot appearing to spin and hover in mid-air above a decorated padlock, without any visible support or attachment, has gone viral online, sparking widespread speculation about spiritual practices some believed had faded from public view.
In the clip, an unidentified person, whose face is not shown, holds a padlock wrapped in cloth and adorned with cowrie shells, while a similarly decorated pot appears to spin freely just above it, seemingly unattached and unsupported by any visible string or object.
The apparent absence of any physical connection between the two items has fuelled much of the online reaction, with viewers expressing shock and disbelief at the footage.
Videos claiming to show supernatural or spiritual phenomena, often described locally as “juju,” periodically go viral across West African social media, typically relying on camera angles, editing, or carefully concealed physical supports (such as thin, hard-to-see strings or rods) that can create convincing illusions when filmed under the right conditions.
